 From 3 March 2021, international passengers can transit/ transfer at Suvarnabhumi International airport ONLY and the time period of each transfer/transit should be no longer than 12 hours.

 

Each passenger shall possess the COMPLETE set of the following documents:

1) Fit to Fly Certificate, issued not more than 72 hours before travelling (click to download a sample of Fit to Fly certificate);

2) RT-PCR COVID19 test result, issued not more than 72 hours before travelling;

3) Travel health insurance (worldwide including Thailand) covering medical expenses for COVID19, with coverage of no less than USD 100,000.

  

Transit Visa 

(Transit through the Kingdom in order to proceed to the country of destination ‘TS’ / participating in sport activities ‘S’ / crew of a conveyance coming to a port or station in the Kingdom ‘C’)

Temporary suspended until further notice : Transit less than 12 hours or not passing through immigration procedure are not required to apply for transit visa. In case of change of airport, longer connection than 12 hours, a Transit Visa must be obtained.

Applicants can ONLY apply in person for a visa 3-5 weeks before your traveling date from Monday – Friday from 09:00 – 12:00 hours. (except our national holidays) and applicants have to make an online appointment at https://thaiembassy.ch/Appointment in order to submit your visa application at the counter of Visa Section, Royal Thai Embassy in Bern
Please kindly note that visa application takes approximately 5-7 working days after the receipt of completed required documents.

(a) Required Documents for Transiting through the Kingdom in order to proceed to the country of destination ‘TS’:

1. Original passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months of the day of your departure from Thailand

2. Completed visa application form

3. 2 recent passport-sized photographs taken within the past 6 months (3.5 x 4.5 cm.)

4. A copy of travel booking or ticket reservation (from Switzerland to Thailand, and outbound flight from Thailand or from one of our neighbouring countries)

5. A hotel booking confirmation

6. A copy of visa of the destination country

7. Evidence of adequate funding (10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family)

8. For Non-Swiss nationals, a copy of valid residence permit (front and back side)

9. In case that applicant’s passport shall be sent back by post, an envelope with applicant’s address and CHF 6.30 of stamps are required. Thge Royal Thai Embassy does not accept any responsiblity for any kind of loss or damage from post service.

10. Visa Fee in cash only

11.  For Children travelling without Parents or Travelling with children (under 20 years old), please submit further document from our recommendations

(b) Required Documents for participating in sport activities ‘S’:

1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months upon the return to residence country

2. Completed visa application form

3. 2 recent passport-sized photographs taken within the past 6 months (3.5 x 4.5 cm.)

4. A copy of travel booking or ticket reservation (from Switzerland to Thailand, and outbound flight from Thailand or from one of our neighbouring countries)

5. A hotel reservation

6. A letter of invitation from Thailand stating the applicant's participation in sports activities in Thailand

7. Confirmation letter from applicant's organization in Switzerland

8. For Non-Swiss nationals, a copy of valid residence permit (front and back side)

9. In case that applicant’s passport shall be sent back by post, an envelope with applicant’s address and CHF 6.30 of stamps are required. Thge Royal Thai Embassy does not accept any responsiblity for any kind of loss or damage from post service.

(c) Required Documents for crew of a conveyance coming to a port or station in the Kingdom ‘C’:

1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months upon the return to residence country

2. Completed visa application form

3. 2 recent passport-sized photographs taken within the past 6 months (3.5 x 4.5 cm.)

4. Evidence of travel routes, permission of parking (if any)

5. Confirmation letter from company in Switzerland stating the purpose of employee entering Thailand

6. For Non-Swiss nationals, a copy of valid residence permit (front and back side)

7. In case that applicant’s passport shall be sent back by post, an envelope with applicant’s address and CHF 6.30 of stamps are required. Thge Royal Thai Embassy does not accept any responsiblity for any kind of loss or damage from post service.
